In Fareham town centre

Nothing is bookable yet. Fareham Borough Council’s Christmas in Fareham page lists free activities for switch-on day, Saturday 21 November, including Christingle making and a mini trail, and says more will be confirmed. At the 2025 switch-on Father Christmas helped the Mayor turn the lights on; our switch-on page has the full day.

Last Christmas the council’s two Festive Thursdays late-shopping evenings included “Festive Storytelling Activities at Santa’s Grotto” inside Fareham Shopping Centre, with free children’s activities and free town centre parking from 5pm (Fareham Borough Council, November 2025).

This year the council’s free Carols in the Garden evenings in the Civic Gardens, on Thursday 10 and Thursday 17 December from 4.30pm, mention Festive Thursday activities in the shopping centre the same nights (Fareham Borough Council). Whether a grotto is part of them has not been announced.

Still to be confirmed

  • Fareham Shopping Centre’s 2026 grotto and Festive Thursdays programme: last year’s was announced on 19 November.
  • Whether Father Christmas appears at the 21 November switch-on.
